As winter fades away, new growth and new life abounds in the Highlands. Spring is a fantastic time to visit, April showers ensure that the waterfalls are in full flow and in the woods you’ll find carpets of bluebells and the hills are yellow with the flowering gorse bush. If you like your holiday to be full of adventurous activity you’ll find the Fort William area in the majestic Highlands a fantastic playground! There’s hill walking, ice climbing, canyoning, canoeing, paragliding and mountain biking. If you like your activities less extreme, then the scenery is dramatic and incredible to drive through, though don’t forget to stop and take a look around some of the lovely villages. There is jaw-dropping Glencoe with its sad and bloody history, the wild grandeur of Ardnamurchan, beautiful beaches at Arisaig and Morar and of course Ben Nevis, Britain’s highest mountain. The perfect place to stay to enjoy the Highlands at their very best is Torlinnhe Guest House.
